How we work

A clear path, start to finish

Twenty years inside New Jersey's top public high schools taught us what admissions offices actually look for — and what wastes a student's time. Here's how we put that to work for your family.

Step 1

The Candid Assessment

We start with an honest read on your student's profile, goals, and realistic odds — before a single school goes on the list. No flattery, no hedge. You'll know exactly where your student stands and what the options actually are.

Step 2

The Plan

A real strategy: which schools to target, when to apply — Early Decision, Early Action, or Regular — how to position the application, and what not to waste time on. Every decision has a reason behind it.

Step 3

The Follow-Through

We stay alongside your student through essays, deadlines, and decisions — every application strategically placed, none wasted. When decisions arrive, we help you weigh them clearly.

What we ask of you

Client commitments

College admissions works best when everyone plays their part. These commitments are what we ask of the student and the family — not as fine print, but as a shared foundation for the work ahead.

  • Own the process. Your parents, counselors, and advisors are here to support you — but the work, the decisions, and the outcome belong to you.
  • Do the work. Some stretches will be demanding. Stress is manageable when you plan ahead and tackle things in reasonable pieces rather than all at once.
  • Be honest. With yourself, with your parents, and with us. The quality of our guidance depends on the quality of the information we have.
  • Speak up. If you feel unheard — by a parent, a counselor, or an advisor — say so directly, or ask a trusted adult to help you work through it.
  • Come prepared. Show up to meetings having completed any thinking or work agreed upon in advance.
  • Give us enough lead time. We'll always do our best to support you — but we can't guarantee our usual turnaround without adequate notice.
  • Trust the process. Admissions involves real uncertainty. Resist reactive decisions made out of anxiety or peer comparison. We'll give you the honest read.

The student is our primary client. We advocate for their best interests — taking parents' input and guardrails seriously, while keeping the student's voice and wellbeing at the center of every decision.
